Mu Deyuan

Wang Bianlian is an aging street performer known as the King of Mask for his mastery of Sichuan Change Art in a true story. His wife left him with and infant son over 30 years ago. The son died from illness at age 10. This left Wang a melancholy loner aching for a male descendent to learn his rare and dying art.

One of the few and of the better Chinese horror movies. The plot revolves around the ghost of a murdered girl, who haunts a creepy, retro basement. A sound technician and an actress encounter her unhappy soul when the come to the film in the now cobweb ridden, dilapidated building.

MY LONG MARCH is the second part in the thrilling AXIS OF WAR saga, set set during the Nanchang uprising of the Chinese Civil War in 1927.

This early work of Hu Bo (director of An Elephant Sitting Still (2018)) was his graduation work at Beijing Film Academy. It features the self-redemption of a lumbago sufferer, which is a metaphor.

During the 12th Century a boy is born to a tribal chief. He is named Temujin, which means "blacksmith." Nine years later, his father is murdered by the Tartars After a long struggle, just when Temujin reclaims tribal chief status, the Merkit tribe kidnaps his wife. In order to fight against the Merkits, Temujin has to use his mother as a pawn in exchange for troops from ally tribes. Temujin manages to rescue his wife only to realise that she is pregnant with the enemy's child. Enduring tremendous anguish, Temujin throws himself into battle against the Tartars and slaughters the leader of the intruders. He eventually takes his wife back and accepts her child. Later on, he begins a campaign to unify all Mongolian tribes. By the age of 40, he is bestowed the title "Genghis Khan", which means "oceanic ruler".
