Tora-san returns to his family's home to attend an elementary school class reunion. After he embarrasses himself by getting drunk and insulting all his ex-classmates, he resumes his travels. In Kyushu he meets an outspoken 18-year-old girl who becomes enamored of Tora-san and follows him around. One of Tora-san's old friends is terminally ill and makes Tora-san promise him to marry his wife once he is gone.

After settling in to his surrounding along with his wife Eri, Densuke befriends an elderly man named Ichinosuke Suzuki. Ichinosuke is a lonely and old man who learns to enjoy life again through his friendship with Densuke. Meanwhile, Densuke is completely unaware that Ichinosuke is the boss of his construction company. The two men become friends through their shared passion for fishing.

A young yakuza hitman named Goro does a job and needs to hideout away from Tokyo for a while. He hangs out with loose women and hard men and always manages to stay one step ahead of the law. In his exile, he comes under suspicion for a murder and meets the girlfriend of the murdered man. They develop a strange bond while unbeknown to Goro, another hitman is after him for the job he did in Tokyo.

Isamu, a sixth-grade boy, lost his mother in a car accident at a young age. Ever since, he's been unable to forgive those who ignore traffic rules. Each day, he stands at the crosswalk with a yellow flag—his mother's keepsake—guiding his classmates and watching over the signals. Though adults dismiss him and his peers call him a "traffic light fool," Isamu remains committed. When his father announces plans to remarry, Isamu refuses the idea of a new mother. But upon learning that the woman too lost loved ones in a traffic accident, he begins to open up. Through this shared grief, Isamu gradually understands the importance of empathy and realizes that rules alone can't heal a broken heart.

This is how they get to know each other, and they gradually become good friends. Their desire is to find a youth they can be truly proud of. The drama depicts the daily lives of three women of the marriageable age who are desperately trying to make some memories before they get married.
