Kana Akutsu

June 1998: After spending two years in a coma caused by a traffic accident, Shiki Ryougi awakens with amnesia. She is visited by Touko Aozaki, a wizard and proprietor of a studio called Garan no Dou. Shiki has lost not only the memory of her accident, but also any real sense that she's even alive. Strangely, enigmatic beings begin to attack her...

Tamaki's father is a researcher who studies penguins. She herself on the other hand cannot stand them though. In order to help her overcome this aversion, Minori, a Penguinoid (penguin-android) is created. However, the two are continuously getting into trouble.

Haruki spends most of his time with friends and fellow classmates Airi and Ayana. All seems well, that is until Airi and Ayana form separate clubs, the Mechanical Science Club and the Chemical Science Club. The two vie for Haruki's attention and hilarious chaos usually follows all attempts to make him join.

However, in exchange for extending her life, the spirit tasks Himari's brothers, Kanba and Shōma, to seek out an elusive item known as the Penguin Drum with assistance from a trio of strange penguins.

This story takes place in a fictional town, in a fictional country, in a fictional world. One morning, a young lady awakens to find that she has lost all her memories prior to that morning. With Orion's guidance, she struggles to make sense of herself, a boyfriend she doesn't know and the thousand and one little things that make up a daily life. But with no memories left, the only alternative is to forge new ones, even if that means leaving old loves behind.
