A film for scatterbrains. Everyone's constantly forgetting something – the daughter the little dog, the father the files, the chauffeur forgetting to close the roof of his taxi when it's pouring rain and his passenger gets soaked. Everyone rushes through life and doesn't even have time for themselves. Then a "young" student (Hans Söhnker) returns to his hometown. He receives a lavish welcome and, at 34, is probably one of the oldest students in German film history. He has three fathers who support him financially and studies on their money. Interminably. Now he has to accept that his fathers have run out of money for his studies. So he rolls up his sleeves, forgets about the expensive degree, and switches to a trade. He does hair, he drives, he assembles film, he shaves, and he pins seams. There he meets a young lady, has time to serenade her, and then learns that his biological father is a millionaire, who now lends him a hand and distributes cash to the other cash-strapped fathers.

The fairies Fortuna and Amorosa make a bet with the devil, in the form of the evil spirit Lumpacivagabundus. They don't believe he will succeed in winning humanity over. Im weißen Rößl (English title: White Horse Inn or The White Horse Inn) is an operetta or musical comedy by Ralph Benatzky and Robert Stolz in collaboration with a number of other composers and writers, set in the picturesque Salzkammergut region of Upper Austria. It is about the head waiter of the White Horse Inn in St. Wolfgang who is desperately in love with the owner of the inn, a resolute young woman who at first only has eyes for one of her regular guests.

Old Meiseken, a gingerbread baker, has been dead for three years, but his bosses don’t know that. They’ve been paying him his pension all this time, unaware that his former landlords have been cashing the checks. When, one day, the assistant head of the bakery, Tony, pays a visit to Meiseken’s place to get a hold of an old recipe, someone’s got to play the part of Meiseken! The fraud blows up in the landlords’ faces; but in the end, Tony gets the recipe book and even a new bride.
