The film features a dystopian near-future world which has been split into three. The Third World are the owners of all of the world's resources and are now able to hold the United States and Europe to ransom.

Danielle and Marc fall in love. Two months later they move in together. Two years later their relation reaches a crisis when Danielle gets pregnant. Did she plan for it or not? Is she going to tell Marc or not? Is she going to keep it or not? Will the relationship survive?

It stars Piet Römer as Jurriaan 'Jurre' de Cock, a police detective, and Victor Reinier as Dick Vledder, his helper. The series is based on the novels of writer A. C. Baantjer. In 1999, RTL 4 broadcast the television film Baantjer, de film: De Cock en de wraak zonder einde because of the tenth anniversary of the network.
