In 2012, Deon Steenkamp was murdered along with his wife Christel and their teenage daughter Marthella on their farm Naauwhoek. GRIEKWASTAD, based on the bestselling true crime novel by Jacques Steenkamp, tells the tale of the search to find the truth around these murders, however difficult and upsetting it may be.

This local ensemble comedy is set in 2003, as a group of working-class South Africans try to come to terms with their changed society. Seen through the eyes of a family dog, we watch as friends, neighbours and lovers try to deal with their challenging relationships.

Suidooster is a South African television soap opera produced by Suidooster Films which revolves around a matriarch, her family, friends and the people of Suidooster, a small shopping and business centre in the fictional Cape Town suburb of Ruiterbosch.

Each episode focuses on a serial killer. The main character, Colonel Piet van der Bijl, also known as Die Byl, is loosely modeled on the famous ex-detective Piet Byleveld.
