Chronicles the Alpine war experiences of young Toni Bruggler (Ludwig Kerscher), a Tyrolean-German member of the Standschützen (militiamen), comprised of those who are too young or old to fight in the Austro-Hungarian Habsburg army.

Poldi Sonnleitner had actually wanted to trade the local mountains for the vastness of the open sea. That’s why he had become a sailor. But during a visit home, everything suddenly changes for him, because all he wants is to stay with his girlfriend Dorle, the grocer’s daughter. When he learns that she has long been promised to the village blacksmith Domini—once Poldi’s best friend—he sets out on a life-threatening mountain trek in a fit of rage. As fate would have it, only his friend Domini can save him.

The title alludes to the popular 1925 song I Lost My Heart in Heidelberg composed by Fred Raymond with lyrics by Fritz Löhner-Beda and Ernst Neubach. The film taps into the nostalgic reputation of Old Heidelberg.

Berchtesgaden in the 15th century: A power struggle between mountain peasants who have been raising milk cows on common land and a village bailiff trying to gain power driving them off the land. Both have a ducal documents that states the opposite.

Michael Lutz and his fiancée Barbara want to spend their vacation on a quiet island in the Danube, hoping to finally have some time to themselves. And who do they run into there? None other than Mr. Bruckmann, Barbara's boss. He hadn't planned on ending up on the island at all; he only wanted to take a boat trip with his partner, Consul Hansens, and the latter's pretty daughter, Gwen. Bruckmann and Gwen are on the verge of falling in love, which the consul would find extremely pleasing. Now they're all stranded on the island together, without money, papers, or clothes.

In a theme reminiscent of the classic Greek comedy Lysistrata by Aristophanes, wives and sweethearts in a Bavarian village agree to withhold sex from their men, as long as the men keep spending time with a new waitress at the inn.
