The film is a comic book adaptation in the style of Italian spaghetti westerns.

Leyla wants to marry her boyfriend Nihat. However, her uncle Feyzullah opposes this. Some time later, Feyzullah dies and leaves his inheritance to Leyla. However, in order to receive the inheritance, she must marry someone other than Nihat. Nihat devises a plan. He arranges for Leyla to marry Kemal, a prisoner who is scheduled to be executed soon. Cellat, the Turkish version of Death Wish, sticks fairly close plot wise to the template of the American film, with some scenes and bits of dialogue being almost identical. However, it also deviates from its inspiration at times and is at its most interesting and valuable in these little moments, providing lurid snapshots of a place and a culture.
