The collective farm driver Vasyl and the young Anyuta were happy when they celebrated their wedding. But soon married life becomes a burden for the girl – Vasyl does nothing but buy and acquire things.

The film is set during World War II. After capturing the "trophy" Mercedes, a group of scouts, disguised as German officers commits a daring raid behind enemy lines (the 116th Motorized Division) on roads controlled by the enemy.

For several months, the investigation into the robbery of the cashier in the village of Airport. Assistants to the chief of criminal investigation department Mironov managed to find the direct traces leading to the thief-the recidivist Panasyuk serving sentence in a colony for small theft.

Villagers carry out a brutal vigilante trial against Hanna—they believe she is a witch and blame her for all their misfortunes. A young priest saves the woman from being killed and takes her into his home. With Hanna’s arrival, sinister events begin to unfold around the church, and the “witch” is not the only apparition to haunt the village in those days.

World War II separates lovers Oksana and Anton. The young man is taken prisoner by the Germans, while his beloved abandons her studies at the conservatory to become a frontline nurse. Despite all the hardships, their paths cross again.

1986, Chornobyl disaster. Couples, friends, and a risk-taking journalist are woven into the larger framework of the disaster. Panic follows.
