Based on a well-known Turkish novel, Dilan narrates the story of a peasant woman who decides to avenge the murder of her lover. In a remote village in Southeastern Turkey, two men are in love with beautiful Dilan: the rich Paso and the poor but brave Mirkan. When Dilan chooses Mirkan, Paso has the youth killed by one of his men. Dilan marries Paso, but she murders him on their wedding night and runs away to the mountains. A tragic love story as well as a realistic portrait of the existence of the rural people of Anatolia, Dilan was shown at several international film festivals, including Cannes, Venice and Berlin.

Azad comes to Sweden by mistake. In order to blend in with the family that hides him, he must pretend that he is nine years old. Suddenly he's quite alone in a new country and doesn't understand the language. But with the help of a spaced-out hot-dog vendor, the coolest guy in school, and world champion Kajsa Bergqvist, maybe he can find his real family again.

Memo is a nine-year-old boy who lives in Turkey with his mother and little sister, while his father works in a Netherlands seaport. When war looms near his family home, Memo's father moves the family to be with him in the Netherlands. Memo is unhappy at having to leave his village, his best friend, Mustafa, and his job as a mail boy. Once installed in his father's basement flat, Memo begins his own protest at being removed from his home by refusing to speak.

Mustafa, has to marry his brother's widowed wife as per the customs. However, the young man is in love with his new wife's sister Zeynep. Mustafa's friend Nizam is also in love with Zeynep.

Beko is a young Kurd who lives in the Turkish part of Kurdistan at the time of the Iraq war. After escaping from an unjustified arrest, he goes on a search for his brother, who planned to cross Syria and reach Iraq.
