Recently-graduated doctor assigned to a small, backward fishing community.

After indulging in an affair with a man (a friend of the family) she truly loves, a woman returns to her young son and husband for good, and loses contact with the man. Her husband is unaware of the affair. Twenty years later, there is news that the friend has died and left all of his money to the younger son in the family, which leads us to question this younger son's biological origin.

Cantinflas works as a porter, who writes letters and speeches in his old writing machine to earn an extra money, despite the fact that he still goes to school. The sentimental issues come when Cantinflas falls in love of his pretty neighborhood (Silvia Pinal), who is handicapped and unable to walk. The thing wont be easy, because a young military man also has feelings for the girl. But the porter wants to see her happy, and he will become a sort of Cyrano De Bergerac, writing love letters to her signed by the young soldier. His plan is simple: to win money in the horse races in order to pay the operation which will make her walk again.

The police plan to capture a killer by using a double that looks exactly as one of his victims.

Marital problems and Ofelia’s physical and mental illness (Rosa Carmina) drive Emilio (Francisco Petrone) to seek pleasure. He meets Carmina, a prostitute who, together with her pimp, plans to ruin him by mocking his situation.

A down on his luck opera singer, prevents the suicide of a young girl and falls in love with her. She inspires him to manage a successful come back but his plans to marry her are abruptly reject it with disastrous consequences.

The movie starts with Braulio Peláez (Pedro Infante), a schoolteacher, having just fallen off his horse, representing the situation he and his family are in. The next scenes introduce the viewer to his family and their poor financial and social situation. As Braulio stumbles around looking for his glasses, he causes a famous film star, Alfonso de Madrazo (Rafael Alcaide) to crash his car. Braulio offers him to eat at his house as an apology. Braulio's sister and mother, big film fans, immediately recognise Alfonso and attempt to get him to bring the girl, Luisa Peláez (Irma Dolores) to Mexico City to become a film star. Alfonso agrees and tells them to come to the capital.

Tourist gets bonked on the head, suffers an amnesiac fugue, wanders away from her husband and children, becomes an evil prostitute-y thief-y saloon gal.
