Alaa Fifty

The film follows an unemployed man called “Bors” (Gecko), who hails from one of Cairo's slums, and the hardships he faces while trying to get married to the girl he loves.

A just-married couple moves into their new home, finding themselves at war with the kids next door, who seem determined to make their lives miserable.

The film follows a writer-director as he sits down to write a book that contemplates Egypt. As he begins penning his personal experiences, the narrative delves into his upbringing, reflecting on the past through influential figures such as his teacher, artists, and an editor-in-chief. The writer-director explores how these changes shaped the Egyptian society, using representative snapshots of the future embodied by the singer Karim Ossama. Through his writing, the film presents a thoughtful exploration of personal and societal transformations, offering a unique perspective on Egypt's evolving identity.

This feature depicts the new local trend in music called “Mahragan”, through the story of two singers,Alaa Fifti and Sadat, who live in a local area. They face many challenges to prove themselves in the world of making Mahragan music.
