A family whose breadwinner dies, leaving his wife and university-student daughter in the care of his son from his first wife. He treats them harshly and wastes their money - especially his sister's money, as he is her guardian - on his own pleasures. The mother and daughter are led by a kind family that takes her by the hand and curbs the son's ambitions.

The film deals with the life of the Arabian peninsula before Islam emerged, where idolatry, ignorance and corruption spread all over. Then the Mohammedan message of worshiping God alone begins and the difficulties facing Islam and early Muslims starts.

As the husband goes out for work, a man sneaks into the house and informs the wife that her husband is a murderer and a fugitive from justice. He makes her choose between signing a contract selling him one of her buildings, or having him report her husband.

Mr. Shehata is a family man who lives in Port Said with his tyrannical wife and their children. In a desperate attempt to get relief, he spends most of the time at a coffee shop. The two parents pay no heed to their children's choices in life. What will become of them?

Three students, Adel, Hassanein, and Samir, face personal struggles. Samir’s relationship with a maid leads to complications, prompting him to seek help from a dancer, Gamalat, for an abortion. The trio robs a bar for abortion money but finds it insufficient. Saidyh dies during the abortion, and Gamalat’s call to neighbors and the police results in their arrest and a fifteen-year prison sentence.

Sunniyeh, the poor girl, lives with her mother sewing, and during the delivery of Suniyeh one of her mother's clients ’gowns, who runs a den of immoral acts, called (Madame Southi), so that one of her friends admires Sunnah and asks her to work with them, to refuse, but her mother is ill and Layla needs a sum of money to treat her. Will you give in to work with Madame Southi?

Drunk and boarding a ship to Beirut, Sambuksa, a young artist, falls for Najwa, the daughter of the head of the Folk Art Lover's Group, and they get married. The next morning when their hangover ends, Sambuksa decides to divorce Najwa, but she tries to lure him in and reignite their spark of love.

The film describes the political and economical corruption in 70s’ Egypt, through the relationship between a powerful man and his wife’s ex-fiance.
