Vakin Loabin is a 2018 Maldivian family drama film directed by Ali Shifau. Co-produced by Mohamed Ali and Aishath Fuad Thaufeeq under Dark Rain Entertainment, the film stars Mohamed Jumayyil and Mariyam Majudha and Nuzuhath Shuaib in pivotal roles. The film was released on 5 March 2018. The film tells a story of a young couple’s divorce and its impact on everyone around.

Manik (Hassan Manik), is an elderly man, who is challenged by harsh realities of this ever changing world. Coming from a middle-class background, his life has always revolved around his work, and he takes pride in being self-sufficient. His identity has always been defined by what he does for a living. When Manik is suddenly forced into retirement, he finds himself completely lost. Rather than wallow in self pity, he decides to rediscover himself by reconnecting with his druggy daughter he has forsaken for so many years.

Yamaan, bound for Singapore to pursue an accounting degree, meets Ameera, a linguistics teacher en route to a conference. When Ameera's plans falter, Yamaan offers shelter at his uncle's. Their bond grows into romance, but fate pulls them apart after Ameera's departure, leaving Yamaan adrift until finding direction in photography. Relocating to the Maldives, he crosses paths with Ameera again, discovering a changed woman. Determined to unravel the mystery, Yamaan confronts a new chapter in their relationship.

The story follows a young woman whose life is upended just as she receives a marriage proposal from her partner. A tragic accident leaves her confined to a wheelchair, causing her romantic relationship to collapse and forcing her to navigate a new, difficult reality.

Ibrahim's relaxed and secure life is met with his inability to ignore the wrong doings in his surrounding and how its consequences unfold in the dark, unequal and corrupt side of society.
