Carol Kingsley and Jimmy Mason, who are both employed in a fashion emporium run by Pierre Ronsard, fall in love and are married. Victor Ronsard, the son of the owner, falls in love with Carol and designs to break up the Mason marriage. He falsely informs Carol that Jimmy, who is the Ronsard bookkeeper, is short in his accounts and that, if she will have dinner with him, he will give her the incriminating papers.

Chorus girl Mary Brown promises to give herself to playboy cad John Duane in exchange for $2500 so she can pay back a theft her brother made from his employers. Her sweetheart, race-car driver Jimmie, learns about it and gives her a check for $2500, but the check is worthless unless he can win the Big Race that afternoon. He leads through every lap but blows a tire on the last lap and finishes fourth. It appears that Duane will soon be hugging sweet Mary, unless Jimmie can find a buyer for a race-car with a flat tire.

Walking along with his bulldog, Charlie finds a "good luck" horseshoe just as he passes a training camp advertising for a boxing partner "who can take a beating." After watching others lose, Charlie puts the horseshoe in his glove and wins. The trainer prepares Charlie to fight the world champion. A gambler wants Charlie to throw the fight. He and the trainer's daughter fall in love.

Through a forged will, a crook assumes control of a valuable estate. He poses as the brother of a dead man, and endeavors to dispose of the deceased man's two daughters, one of whom is in love with the forger's son.

Young millionaire Harry Canby, returning from a cruise, finds a taxi without a driver on the docks and helps a young girl escape some ruffians who are pursuing her. She disappears, but Harry identifies her as Nancy Cornell from an inscribed cigarette case and finds the driver, who is then killed before he can reveal her whereabouts. Harry is suspected of the crime, but his guardian, Willoughby Thomson, vouches for him. At a society party given by Mrs. Jameson, Harry learns that the girl is a musical comedy star, but when he confronts her she denies knowledge of the taxi incident.

Broncho's former wife writes a note to him shortly before her death, asking him to forgive her, also the other man. Broncho is heartbroken at hearing of her death, and his memory takes him back to the days when they were happily married. Then this scoundrel came into her life and finally succeeded in parting them.

Broncho Billy, a prospector, makes a rich strike, but while he is examining the rock he is being watched by three claim jumpers. The minute he leaves the spot the jumpers gather up some samples of the ore, and after replacing Broncho's sign with one of their own, start for the claim agent's office.

To protect her brother, a nightclub entertainer Queenie Morgan marries a gangster. She bears a resemblance to a society girl who has gotten involved with the underworld and wound up shooting her gangster boyfriend, and the gang forces Queenie to impersonate the woman in order to extort money from her wealthy parents. Unfortunately the society girl is killed by the gang, and the police arrest Queenie for the murders of both the society girl and her boyfriend.

Two German musicians discover the citizens of Snakeville do not appreciate their music.

William Young and his daughter, Mildred, settle in the west, with the intention of investing their money in a mine. True Boardman, a mine shark, knowing that Young will be easy money, salts the mine and sells it to them.

Eve, a beautiful young nightclub dancer, turns down a string of wealthy and powerful suitors for Robert, a poor but ambitious young man. What Eve doesn't know is that Robert is the son of a wealthy businessman and is just pretending to be poor to see if she really loves him. However, an item in the society pages gives away Robert's true identity. Complications ensue.

Broncho Billy comes between a Mexican thug and the young woman he is disturbing. The Mexican plots revenge for the insult and captures Billy, who has rescued a lost old man. The young woman discovers Billy being held prisoner and rides for help. The townsmen gallop toward Billy's rescue.

A desperate bandit has escaped and finding no one about Broncho's cabin, takes refuge in the attic.

Stranded on a desert isle, Donald and Cecilie become man and wife in the eyes of God. Donald is attacked by a mad Portuguese and is knocked unconscious; Cecilie mistakes him for dead and leaves him behind on the island when a rescue party arrives. She returns to the United States and goes to see Donald's wealthy family. They not only refuse to recognize her as Donald's wife but also refuse to recognize her baby as Donald's child. Donald's brother offers to take her as his mistress, however; when she refuses, he attempts to bribe her into giving up all claims on the Van Buren name. John Wendell, the family lawyer, takes pity on Cecilie and offers her the protection of his name in marriage; she accepts, with the provision that it be in name only but trouble is on the horizon.

In order to save lovely Lorraine from a gang of claim jumpers Art teams with his wonder dog and horse.

While on the round-up, Broncho's rival one night steals his sweetheart's picture from his watch. He then returns to the girl with a note saying that Broncho has fallen in love with another girl and is returning her photograph. He signs Broncho's name. Believing Broncho's love dead, she marries the forger some time later.
