Monty Don

Celebrity Mastermind is a British television quiz show broadcast by BBC television. The show is a spin-off of the long-running quiz show Mastermind, with the exception that all the contestants are celebrities. As with the main show, John Humphrys is the host and question-master. Magnus Magnusson was quizmaster on the 2003/04 episodes featuring Jonathan Meades as winner.

Monty Don sets out to discover the true essence of these elegant gardens and what we have taken from them. Armed with his extensive knowledge and passion for all aspects of horticulture, Monty travels through Japan to explore the best gardens the country has to offer. From plants and architecture to new techniques and differing climates, this series is full of rich colour and vibrant landscapes as Monty examines how a mix of history and new innovations are shaping the gardens of Japan today and how they are perceived. Around the World in 80 Gardens was a television series of 10 programmes in which British gardener and broadcaster Monty Don visited 80 of the world's most celebrated gardens. The series was filmed over a period of 18 months and was first broadcast on BBC Two at 9.00pm on successive Sundays from 27 January to 30 March 2008. A book based on the series was also published. The title of the series was a reference to Jules Verne's novel Around the World in Eighty Days and is a spiritual successor to Dan Cruickshank's earlier television series, Around the World in 80 Treasures, first broadcast in 2005.

Monty Don travels to Spain, discovering gardens across the country’s diverse landscape and exploring its rich and varied history and culture. In Episode 1, he visits historic and modern gardens around the harsh central plains of Spain. In Episode 2, he continues his journey through Spain, visiting the gardens of the South. In the final episode, he discovers gardens in the lesser-known green and mountainous North of Spain.
