Two Istanbul thieves rob the house of prominent jeweler and make off with millions of lira in jewelry and cash. Back at their safehouse, they get little sleep after tensions rise over how they’ll divide the loot. In the morning, the matter is decided.

This film focused on the life of the people who were obligated to leave their hometown because of the war conditions in the region. In present-day Istanbul, there are three young people in their twenties. Süreyya, who suspects her boyfriend Nazım of being unfaithful, convinces her best friend Burcu to seduce him. But this game will lead to much more serious consequences than Süreyya ever imagined.

Nesrin is an urban, middle-class woman recovering from a divorce. She’s quit her office job, abandoned her house in Istanbul, and come to the village house of her deceased grandmother to finish a novel and live out her childhood dream of being a writer. When her conservative and increasingly unhinged mother turns up uninvited and refuses to leave, Nesrin’s writing stalls and her fantasies of village life turn bitter as the two are forced to confront the darker corners of each other’s inner worlds.

It’s a horrific situation that Kathryn puts into words incisively and pragmatically. Sarikecilis are the last representatives in Anatolia of the centuries-old tradition of nomadism. Making their way to sea level in winter, and to the highlands in summer, they spend seven months of the year in transit, living off of the goats they keep. This documentary film is telling the story of the last Nomadic tribe in Anatolia within their natural habitat.
