Sent to cover a story on the exploitation of tribal people, Upin meets a woman he believes is the epitome of Indian beauty. His pictures of her change both of their lives forever.

London, England, April 1980. Six terrorists assault the Embassy of Iran and take hostages. For six days, tense negotiations are held while the authorities decide whether a military squad should intervene.

A struggling architect, being sued for divorce by his wife and struggling with booze and gambling, finds work remodeling a friend's strip club, the Paradise. There he meets a transsexual stripper who is bothered by accurate, but extremely violent visions of future events. The increasingly violent visions start including the architect, who doesn't believe in the prophesy. One who does however is a psychiatrist who is seeing both the stripper and the architect and is sleeping with the ex-wife. He uses the prophecies for his own financial gain. Finally the scenes from the vision move into reality amidst many plot turns.

A slice of bi-cultural life in New Zealand - Hindu and Kiwi served up in the wine country environment of Hawke's Bay. The story revolves around the various cultural differences and serious matters of those differences being exposed and examined, mostly with a sense of humour. The Kiwis are introduced to various Hindu social conventions such as `mother in law rules' and the visiting Hindus are introduced to outspoken children, all while the Kiwi wife is about to have it out with the arrogant Hindu mother-in-law.
