Victoria becomes an orphan because her father, Don Lucio, died. She does not have good communication with her mother, Raquel. She looks for, and finds a job as a store employee, and at the same time she finishes her high school. There are memories from the past that cause her to seek out and create her destiny. She is avoiding from her family, her friends and from her boyfriend Aurelio. These and other stories, and this character and others are going to mix, and configure a complex crucible from the actual Paraguayan reality.

The path of Paraguayan immigrants who drive to Asuncion and then arrive in São Paulo. They are rural workers, musicians, vendors and underemployed people. Two parallel worlds: the Guarani culture and the Brazilian adventure in São Paulo juxtaposed with Paraguayan songs and the Guarani language, spoken by the main characters.

In precise, unhurried compositions of image and sound, Lamar’s feature debut portrays a man and his dying wife, living in a remote hut in the hills of Paraguay. All the stages of mourning are passed through in a single day in this wordless account of an emotional earthquake.

Set in 1935, a couple of aged smallholders are waiting for their son, for rain, for better days.
