A silent film about the famous Shakespearean actor Edmund Kean, whose life intertwines with a young woman, Anna Damby, and Countess Koefeld. Kean, inspired by the Countess, becomes entangled in a plot involving Anna, her guardian, and a roué named Lord Melville. The story culminates in a benefit performance where Kean's passionate denouncement of the Prince of Wales leads to his downfall.

A cowboy matches the description of the man who robbed the local hotel--both are 6'4". When a young woman is robbed, suspicion falls on the cowboy again. However, he discovers that the actual culprits are a local gang headed by the sheriff. He sets out to capture the robbers and clear his name.

Ralph Tanner, a cub reporter on the Morning Standard, writes a highly libelous story about John Gorman, the political boss of the city. Wilbert, the publisher, and Dyke, the managing editor, are highly pleased about the story...until they learn that Tanner has no proof to back his statements. Tanner, aided and/or hampered by a mystery girl, Doris Leslie, and a hefty stenographer from the paper, Winnie Nash, and her even-huskier boyfriend, Bill Schultz, sets out to gather proof.
