Syota ng Bayan is Tanya Marquez, a bold star who quits showbiz and goes back to her hometown. Finding out that a cement factory is causing a lot of havoc in the environment and in the lives of her town mates, she challenges the incumbent of Mayor Golano to have it closed. When denied, Tanya rallies the people in protest but is silenced. The mayor's opponents prevail upon Tnays to run for mayor in the coming elections against Golano's son, Peter Lee. During the campaign period Tanya and Peter Lee meet and fall in love.

In the aftermath of the eruption of Mount Pinatubo, a volcano dormant for more than 400 years, the residents of the whole town of San Simon in Pampanga was engulfed by dust and thick mudflow called lahar. The whole surviving residents of the devastated community are relocated to transitional evacuation center, a tent city, where different and unique personalities meet: Sheila, a migrant worker from Germany who is struggling to keep her family intact at all costs; Sonia who is looking for her missing husband while pretending as a handicapped so she can beg on the streets; Ditas, who returns in Pampanga after getting pregnant in Manila; and Elena, a mother who lost her whole family in the eruption, yet she keeps a positive outlook in life that as long as she remembers her relatives no amount of tragedy could keep her from reminiscing of their once peaceful lives.

FLAMES is former TV a teen-oriented drama series and becomes a movie that is divided into two separate episodes. Episode 1: Tameme Leslie is a rich highschool student, who longs for her absentee parents. She has a cynical perception of love thus when she learns of her classmate Butch’s feelings for her, she takes it negatively. Butch on the other hand, is a poor boy who is too nervous to handle his feelings for Leslie believing he does not have any chance of making her like him. Episode 2: Pangako Karina is a young breadwinner who raised her family when her mother Dona Amparo stopped taking care of them at the death of her husband. Joel is a young delivery boy who falls in love with Karina’s meekness. As their love blooms Karina’s responsibility as a sister and daughter will stand in their way.
