Early Spring 1945. Albanian criminals attack innocent Macedonians in Macedonia.

The circularity of violence seen in a story that circles on itself. In Macedonia, during the war in Bosnia, Christians hunt an ethnic Albanian girl who may have murdered one of their own. A young monk who's taken a vow of silence offers her protection. In London, a photographic editor who's pregnant needs to talk it out with her estranged husband and chooses a toney restaurant.

The film is a combination of animation and live-action sequences. In both parts, the connecting thread is the knock on the door. It is a story about a man who finds himself in various situations during his life, even being shot, and after each of those situations, he hears a knock on the door and when he opens it, there is a man in front of it who hits him on the head. That is the animated part, which has 32 frames. The live-action part is made up of 18 frames, divided into two sequences. In the first sequence, the animator makes the cartoon he has already seen, hears a knock on the door and when he opens it, he is also hit on the head by a man. In the second sequence, a woman makes a collection of photographs showing the animator in various situations, and suddenly hears a knock on the door. The dilemma arises whether to open the door?

Film about the power of evil and temptation, about greed and the frailty of a friendship that leads two friends into self-destruction.

Five centuries of persecution and the struggle of the Macedonian people for freedom and an independent Macedonian state in which freedom will reign equally for all, have created their own myth and tradition for themselves. The struggles, sufferings, betrayals and self-sacrifice were later translated and woven through Macedonian songs, stories, tales and plays. Starting from there, this TV movie approaches the events of that time.

The story takes place in Ohrid, at the end of XI century. Slavic population gives resistance to Byzantium and the Christian dogma leads to the persecutions and murders. The villages are plagued with outbreak of smallpox, and all the people with the symptoms were thrown into the lime. The film follows the fate of Abraham's family as the story of survival in the Balkan intersections.

A dispute about water causes dramatic consequences, and the whole story grows into a tragic metaphor for the fate of a man doomed to fight for a bare existence.

In the conflict with the enemy in one battle lost in advance, the risk to die in vain, partisan Mitko Angelov, fleeing from the battlefield. He climbs onto the train and goes to see his mother, who has just returned from internment. When he returned to the brigade, Mitko was declared a deserter and was disarmed and bound. Since he lost his weapon, the Commissioner sent him to patrol the action to take weapons from the Germans. All partisans patrol that went with him dying and the only Mitko and Vane, who was seriously injured remain alive. Thinking it was dead Vane, Angelov returns to the brigade. But the commander did not believe him, thinking that he had fled from the battle, and that is why the prison in the basement. In the meantime, get wounded fighter Vane, and the story of the heroic struggle led by Mitko. But at the same time, a military court condemned him to death for desertion.

The Tibetan word Bardo means literally intermediate state also translated as transitional state or in-between state. It is a state that lies between two other states, between life and death, sadness and joy, being a child and growing up. Bardo is a story about two friends, a little girl and a balloon which reminds her of her father. A story about little girl's world coming face to face with grownups world while attending her father's funeral.

A short retrospect into the life and work of the Manaki brothers. The film represents passion of having the first camera as well as the very beginnings of photography and movie making in the Balkans. The production employed original costumes and photography equipment from the era.
