Freddy emigrates to Buenos Aires in search of a more prosperous life. In his native country, Bolivia, he left his family. But the capital of Argentina is not the paradise he dreamed of, and much less for illegal immigrants like himself. But even with that, he gets a job as a griller in a restaurant.

Suicide? Ordinary crime? A priest follows his hunches obsessed with the death of a woman. In turn, the commissioner finds the indications of a possible truth.

A couple of friends work for a taxi driver to rob his passengers, but they feel like they're getting ripped off. They decide to plan their own robberies, but they are amateurs and things don't go too well. One of the youths, Cordoba, whose girlfriend Sandra is pregnant, just wants to get enough cash so they can leave Argentina and get to Uruguay to start a new life. He and his friends plan one last robbery, but things don't go as planned.

The film brings together the winners of the first edition of the Argentine National Film Board's (INCAA) annual public script competition, the grand prize of which is the budget to produce a short film. Eventually screened in national theaters, the omnibus film gave rise and recognition to a new generation of Argentine filmmakers known collectively as the New Argentine Cinema—a wave of contemporary filmmaking that began in the mid-1990s in reaction to decades of political and economic crises in the country.

Two groups of marginalized people, of different generational composition, dispute the modest geography of a square, in the most perfect synthesis of Caetano's recurring theme: the confrontation of poor against poor as the atrocious symptom of the loss of political consciousness.
