An unemployed drifter, Eric Stanton wanders into a small California town and begins hanging around the local diner. The film concludes with Alice and Eddie successfully escaping together, while the husband and wife are seen in silhouette engaged in a physical brawl.

Currently engaged to a woman described as a "gold-digger" (played by Madeleine Hurlock), Ben decides he must first end his relationship with his former lover, a showgirl and theater dancer named Alma Bennett.

Gladys falls for a prizefighter who has invited his entire hometown to watch his fight in New York City. However, he gets crazy jealous when he sees Gladys at the fight sitting next to Jimmy. After the bout is over, he sets out for the hotel to teach Jimmy a lesson.
