Doctor's daughter Leila is getting married to engineer Lauri. Before the wedding, Lauri's ex-girlfriend Asta and poet Esko, who is in love with Leila, mess up the relationship between the happy couple.

A new steward, agronomist Paul, arrives at the Siltala estate. The self-assured steward causes tension among the gentry, especially among the estate's owner, Captain Lilli's widow. The flamboyant Lieutenant Hugo courts the owner of Siltala, but Lilli and Paul find common ground.

A Russian officer rescues the wanted anarchist Vera Maretskaja. A romance arises between them, but the secret police arrests the officer in a restaurant and expels him to Siberia on charges of aiding the revolutionaries.

Set in Southern Finland between 1912 and 1936. Due to his father's drunkenness, high school student Jussi Raala has lost his inheritance, the manor house and the sawmill, to the gunman Lumia. Bitter and vengeful, Jussi decides to get the property back.

Story about about a young man who was raised in an orphanage. Kauko goes to Helsinki to work as a store help. The living the big city is not so easy as Kauko expects and not so grand.

Manjardo, a young Gypsy leader has spent a lively and joyful life with his young women, Glafira and very keen Akris. He will soon be married to the daughter of the master of another tribe, Esmeralda.
