In a small town near Madrid, Paquita and her brother Venancio, both single and with a childish personality, live under the shadow of their bossy older sister, Ignacia, a grumpy old maid.

During a trip to the mountains with their schoolmates, Arturo, who has just turned fifteen, gets thirteen-year-old Paloma pregnant.

Dawn in Madrid. In the Plaza de la Cibeles begins the daily grind. All other options exhausted, the gang ultimately has no choice but to make a daring raid on the foundlings' home to get their child back, because, as they've repeatedly pointed out... "The child is ours!"
