Two childhood friends face obstacles and challenges after they confront gangsters and each other.

Kotayya (Ranga Rao) is a kind man. He marries Rami. She succumbs to pressure from Gopala Swamy and elopes with him, leaving her husband. Rami and Gopala successfully plan and send Kotayya to jail. After returning from jail, Kotayya becomes a rowdy drunkard. He plans to take revenge and kill Gopala Swamy.

Asha Sundari is a 1960 Indian Kannada film, directed by Hunsur Krishnamurthy and produced by S Bhavanarayana. The film stars Raj Kumar, Narasihma Raju, Krishna Kumari, Harini, Lakshmidevi and Hemalatha in lead roles. Music of the film was composed by Susarla Dakshinamurthy.

Jaggayya is a businessman and and old friend of Krishna because of him Krishna lands in Jail without a fault of his. Kantha Rao is a criminal and after coming out of Jail, he enters into politics and becomes a minister.These three create havoc and play with the lives of the poor.

Shanker and Rita's marriage is finalized by their elders in their childhoods, however, after growing up, Shanker loves Shobna. Shanker is told to marry Rita instead, and he does so. The marriage is rocky as Rita does not pay attention to her husband and son. Then Shobna re-enters their life.
