An old man decides to find the body of his son, a Kazakh soldier who died fighting somewhere in Russia, to bury him in the land of his ancestors. Travelling across the land with his grandson, they discover the harsh reality of war. And when they finally find the coveted grave, they realise that many brothers-in-arms are buried with the soldier. Every inch of the great homeland becomes the land of our fathers, the land of the ancestors...

Directed by Bolotbek Shamshiyev, the movie shows Kyrgyzstan under early Soviet rule; and tells us about opium contrabanda across the border.

The clash of two styles of approaches to people, science, and business is the main conflict of the film. Both central characters - the head of the Altai complex space station and the experiment leader Andrei - are people devoted to science. But Altai is an emotional person, he manages to take care of people, forgive them their small shortcomings and mistakes. Andrey is dry, sometimes even rude to his employees. His absorption in work sometimes borders on selfishness. This gives rise to a clash with Touma, a gifted physicist, but a man of a different plane.

Old shepherd Serkebai seeks a second lambing from his flock, but kolkhoz chairman Aisary, citing lack of pasture and water, urges slaughtering the sheep. Defying him, Serkebai leads the flock across the Syr Darya into the Kyzyl Kum desert with several kolkhoz workers and his daughter Marzhan. After days without finding a well, Serkebai gives leadership to Kundebai and departs alone to die in the sands, followed by the sheep. Searching for her father, Marzhan meets hydrogeologists drilling an artesian well, where she falls in love with geologist Imash. The team rescues Serkebai’s group, and water bursts from the well, forming a lake to which the entire kolkhoz soon relocates.

A young boxer named Kuat, who is brought up in the ring by a wise and demanding trainer, achieves considerable success and becomes a good athlete. He finds his happiness in great love...

The screen adaptation of the novel "Abai" by Mukhtar Auezov recreates the story of prominent Kazakh poet and philosopher Abay Kunanbayev. The famous Kazakh poet became friends with the Russian exile, scientist Nifont Dolgopolov. Under the influence of their growing friendship, Abai formed some of his academic ideas and principles.

The prototypes of the heroes of this TV movie were the residents of the state farm named after him. Toraighyrova.

High in the mountains of the Trans-Ili Alatau there is an experimental station of the Kazakh Institute of Animal Husbandry. A young scientist, Jacques Dosanov (Shaken Aimanov), is working on breeding a new breed of sheep, trying to cross a merino sheep and a wild argali ram. With great difficulty, he manages to catch argali in the mountains. Datsanov and his assistant Saule take care of five sheep fertilized by a wild ram. But in difficult mountain conditions, four queens died, and the only lamb born from the fifth sheep was killed by an accidental shot by a hunter. However, Hasanov does not give up. He undertakes to repeat his experience, this time on an immeasurably large scale. A few years later, the scientist managed to grow a whole flock of archaromerinos.
