Despite a shy nature, Matilde is a child with a dynamic intelligence and a strong spirit. In her classroom, however, something is upsetting her. Combining the suggestions received from her teacher, the interest in the tools of a hairdresser mother and her passion for tennis, Matilde looks for a drastic and original solution to find the serenity.

The soothing pace of the film shows a woman's journey to reinvent herself, as Anna serves 15 years for a murder she committed as a teenager, and although her sentence has expired, the strange looks around her mean that her trial is not yet over. Anna travels far from home to a small town and finds a job, ready to start a new life, but she still struggles with closure, fear, prejudice, and the black holes left by the old days that she must fill herself.

Vincenzo and Antonio, sentenced to life imprisonment, embark on a difficult but humane path of restorative justice, opening a dialogue with victims and the public in order to find an opportunity to redeem themselves with their help.

Andrea and Filippo love each other and have been together for many years, which is why Andrea thinks the time has come to get married and registers a request with the municipality with his own name, as if it were that of a woman: Mrs. Andrea Viglione. Especially since Anthony is running for governor of Kansas for the conservatives and his son Jimmy, while still a child, is already a talented evangelical preacher of strict principles.
