Kalthoum Bornaz

Abdullah is released after several years of detention because of his opinions. His family throws a party and he meets Malika and falls in love with her. Al-Shadi, Malika’s husband, finds out about the matter, he feels jealous, and the relationship between them turns into hell.

Selima and Selim are twins who have just celebrated their 20th birthday. Orphans since their mother died giving birth to them, they live in Tunis with their father ALI, a lawyer at the Tunis Bar. Ali has never recovered from his wife's death. He blames his children for their mother's death and stubbornly refuses to answer their questions about her. One day, Selima discovers that girls inherit only half as much as their brothers. She asks her father, "Do fathers love their daughters only half as much?" When their father dies, Selim leaves to live abroad. What will become of Selima?

This film raises a cry of alarm against the plan to destroy the Municipal Theater of Tunis, a neoclassical building built at the beginning of the 20th century. In this film, Kalthoum Bornaz recreates selected scenes from the history of this historical theater. Therefore, having the opportunity to save one of the gems of Tunisia's heritage, which represents an architectural memory of the colonial era that marked the physical and ideological landscape of Tunisia.
