After taking part in a satanic orgy at a beach in 1850, Macário meets Exú-Lebara, a female pagan entity. She decides to go along in his trip but tricks him into going to 2008 São Paulo.

Isabel, a young researcher and employee of the Cinemateca, discovers that she is pregnant at the same time that she receives a bombastic news: the Cinemateca is going to close! All employees and collaborators are dismissed. Isabel is outraged and decides to react. THE PREGNANT CINEMATECA is a cinematic fable about the abandonment of art and culture by the State.
