Ahmet, who believes that the stolen mummy will solve a mafia boss's power problem, suspects Fatima. On the plane carrying the mummy is also the body of archaeologist Yahya, who died during the excavations. However, upon arriving in Istanbul, the coffins are mixed up, and while Yahya's body is handed over to the mafia boss, the mummy is delivered to the grieving family...

Ali is a man who makes his living as a fisherman. His life takes a drastic turn when a tragic event occurs shortly before his wedding to his fiancée Esma. Faced with a difficult choice, Ali tries to find a unique solution between madness and genius for the sake of love. Meanwhile, Esma feels a different kind of responsibility toward Samet, her childhood friend with intellectual disabilities.

The mother is separated from her child by the change of the country's borders. Will Hayat be able to get back to her mother, or will her remain in the hands of customs director Suna, who wants to have her very much.

Gönülçelen is inspired by Bernard Shaw's play 'Pygmalion' and its film adaptation 'My Fair Lady'. The series transports the scene to Istanbul where both Murat and Hasret, the two main characters, live. Murat is thirty years old and a successful musician and music educator who was born and raised in Istanbul. He comes from a long line of respected, rich and noble people. The female protagonist Hasret - on the other hand - was born and raised in one of Istanbul's most impoverished neighborhoods. She is a free spirited young woman with a 'foul' mouth. Hasret makes her living by selling flowers and occasionally singing in a band. Murat hears potential in her untrained voice and takes it upon himself to teach her the secrets of music by giving her a classical training.

When Olcay's husband commits suicide and leaves a huge debt behind, Olcay and her teenage daughter, Duru, are forced to move to a slum in Istanbul. They find themselves financially dependent on Olcay's only remaining friend, so Olcay starts to look for a job. Without any degree or experience, she tries to survive doing all sorts of odd jobs. Meanwhile, her neighbors, who are completely different from the people in Olcay's old world, begin to get to like the mother and daughter. Some even fall in love.
