Set in Milan in the summer of 1989 against the backdrop of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the film follows four frustrated individuals whose lives intertwine because of the loss of a planner.

Aldo Viezzi, a brilliant surgeon secretly addicted to cocaine, retreats to Prague for research but sinks deeper into dependency. With sociologist Teresa’s help he uncovers a drug-trafficking manager, endures a forced, drug-free operation to save a kidnapped patient, and finds the strength to confess his addiction and bring the trafficker to justice.

A psychiatrist is murdered and a rich heiress fears her disturbed lover will be implicated as the killer. She hires an ex-lover lawyer friend to help her defend him but when he turns up dead, the lawyer realizes he´s in over his head.

Some people say that school days are the best day of our lives... but there are plenty of exceptions. When chronically bored student Alex seems to have no future, two of his teachers take the challenge to help him discover the motivation he lacks. The teachers, a couple in the middle of their divorce, will fight to impose the best way to make Alex a promising student.
