The Land of Short Sentences

Marie's life gets turned upside down when the love of her life, Rasmus, takes on a teaching job at a local school in West Jutland, Denmark. Rather unwillingly, Marie joins Rasmus in moving their roots from Copenhagen to the windy town, Velling. While Rasmus is an immediate match to the local ways, it becomes a culture chock for Marie, who time and time again proves herself a misfit to the locals. However, as she gradually learns to listen more and talk less, she realizes that she might need Velling as much as Velling needs her – and her advice column for the local newspaper.

The brand new and unsinkable rescue boat RF2 goes down on one of its first rescue missions in 1981, Hirtshals. 9 men died. Henrik, the son of the captain of RF2, starts an investigation as his father is set to blame for the accident. However, Henrik faces opposition from the townspeople, meanwhile grief threatens to tear Henrik's family apart. The film is inspired by true events.

Police officer Asger Holm, demoted to desk work as an alarm dispatcher, answers a call from a panicked woman who claims to have been kidnapped. Confined to the police station and with the phone as his only tool, Asger races against time to get help and find her.

Rasmus has therefore started the secret underground group Man Up. By day, he works in a trade union, and by night, he and his friends are freedom fighters. Klovn is a Danish sitcom, which first aired on the Danish TV channel TV2 Zulu. It focuses on the life of the main character Frank and Casper. The show builds its comedy around quiet everyday situations, social awkwardness, uncomfortable silences and general faux pas. Klovn usually gets compared to the American sitcom Curb Your Enthusiasm by Larry David. It’s also shot handheld, in a pseudo-realistic style. Some have also mistakenly compared the theme to Curb Your Enthusiasm’s, despite it being a direct reference to Jacques Tati’s Mr. Hulot movies. The poster for the first film can be seen in Casper and Frank’s offices throughout the series. Klovn initially ran 6 seasons on TV2 Zulu from 2005-2009 and was renewed with an additional 3 seasons that aired from 2018-2022.
