The Supporter is a short film that provides an insight into Swedish supporter culture. Through its main character Axel we are drawn into a world of dependency, affirmation and violence. Hooliganism is an ever-present phenomenon, reported on daily in the media. We see how a more organized criminality blends in with families with children and ordinary fans. And all the time we ask the question: 'how close is this violence to ourselves?'

An Asian woman is found dead in the water of Stockholm's archipelago. She has been murdered and everything indicates that she was a prostitute. Meanwhile a series of break-ins has occurred on an island outside of Stockholm. Suddenly a retired old man is also found dead in his own yard. Now Beck has two cases to solve and they both point in the same direction.

In the mid-1920s, four young men and women have decided to spend their summer holiday studying together and have rented a wonderful house in the Swedish archipelago. Rationally, they realize that this cohabitation may lead to some of the members being attracted to one another. Thus, in order to avoid unnecessary passions, conflicts, jealousy, grief and enmity, the women sleep in a separate house on the other side of the creek. In spite of believing that they are prepared for anything, and even though they share the task of cooking, their feelings get carried away.

Five men break into Frank Wagner's apartment. Frank is able to escape and seeks out the help of Johan Falk. Has someone leaked that Frank is working with the police? Frank and John don't know who knows what and whom to trust.

"It's simple! We do as we're told." This disconcerting reply comes from a Swedish employment office employee when asked how the country’s most unpopular government agency works. And that’s not all: in this creative documentary, case workers, receptionists and psychologists reveal how the Swedish employment system is failing. They complain about inadequate software and mystifying error messages, excessive caseloads and demoralizing results—on average, each case worker helps just 10 people find work each year, and only one in 10 clients will find a new job. To assure the anonymity of the interviewees, they're all represented by cardboard puppets. Thanks to visible puppeteers, expressive eyes and recognizable gestures, these puppets quickly take on the appearance of real people. The result is a fascinating, comical and artistic study of human strategies to get along in an irrational bureaucracy.

But after talking to the eccentric locals -- including a shy video store clerk and a corrupt police officer -- Erik finds a woman who is not at all like the girl he left behind.
