Minoru Matsushima

Former Ometsuke, Oseki Jutayu, has handed over the family headship to his son Tsurunojo and is living a carefree life. One day, Tsurunojo dies in a duel. Behind this is a trap set by former treasurer Ibe Tatewaki and his son Denshichiro, whom Jutayu had previously accused of corruption with the government-supplied merchant Yamashiroya, that forced Tatewaki to resign. Enraged, Jutayu takes action to avenge his son’s death.

Heihachiro and Magoichi head towards the duel's location, but the village headman, Seibei, blinded by the allure of gold dust in the mountains, abducts Shino...

In the Kurume-Arima domain, Lady Okuni and the chief retainer conspire to poison the eldest son of the Arima family in order to install the second son as the next lord of the domain. The suspicious swindlers operating in the shadows are connected to Lady Okuni, and their actions embody the sorrow and hopes of a family that is not allowed to descend to the village. The chief retainer plans to eliminate the Arima family concubine once his plan is successful and become the successor… then a secret agent steps in to stop the assassination.

Fukami, a secretary engaged to company president Kaido, her employer, is invited by his close friends, the Nogis, to a three-day-two-night tour. The tour group is traveling in a luxurious coach to Lake Megami in the Tateshina Plains. On the way, they are disturbed to hear that Shirai, a hostess who was supposed to come along on the tour, has been murdered. And the next day, the body of Hasegawa, another tour member, is floating in Lake Megami...

When the famous SL "Lady of Childbirth" traveling on the Yamaguchi Line approached Tsuwano, a passenger saw a man crashing into the tracks from the top of the Usui Tunnel. When the conductor rushed to report it, the man was already dead. Shortly after, the witness passenger had disappeared for some reason! Detective Sato (Takuma), who rushes to the scene, learns that the dead man is Odagiri (Odagiri), a taxi driver whom he met earlier.

One day, Itto’s wife and members of his household are brutally murdered by a clan seeking to avenge their lord’s execution, which had been carried out by Itto. In the wake of the attack, two items are left in Itto’s home: his unhurt infant son, Daigoro, and a symbol meant to signify Itto’s betrayal of the Shogun. Disgraced by the false symbol, Itto is labeled a traitor and forced to forfeit his position. He becomes a ronin, wandering the country with his son, searching for the men who killed his wife, seeking to clear his name and avenge her death.

Set mainly in and around the Aizumi Police Station, this detective drama depicts a detective with a past as a former delinquent who fights against the rapidly increasing number of juvenile crimes.
