A renowned Mexican journalist and documentary filmmaker living in Los Angeles, after being named the recipient of a prestigious international award, is compelled to return to his native country, unaware that this simple trip will push him to an existential limit.

Gloria is a 58-year-old divorcée. Her children have all left home but she has no desire to spend her days and nights alone. Determined to defy old age and loneliness, she rushes headlong into a whirl of singles’ parties on the hunt for instant gratification – which only leads to repeated disappointment and enduring emptiness. Just when he is about to receive that long-awaited promotion, a solar storm leaves the entire world without internet, indefinitely. With her ex-husband stranded in another country, she is faced with the reality that she has to be a mother without the help of apps or the internet.
