A 35-year-old reservist is called up for retraining in new weapons. He has been engaged for nine years to a Cretan girl, whose brother threatens to kill him if he does not set a wedding date immediately. So he sees his conscription as a saving grace, but he is assigned to a paratrooper commando unit and endures hell during training. At the camp, he hangs out with three other guys his age who are turning the universe upside down. However, the difficult life at the camp eventually convinces him to get married and become a good family man.

Thalia, young, beautiful, and ambitious, arrives from abroad, where she studied theater, to pursue a career as an actress in Greece. She becomes involved with a young writer, Nikitas, a romantic idealist who disagrees with his beloved's ambitions and plans. Thalia is hired as the leading actress in a major theater company, co-starring with the popular actor Tasos Stergiou, and at the same time takes part in a television production. Nikitas gets involved with some anarchist groups, wanting to gather information to write a book about their ideology. His involvement proves fatal, because one night he finds himself in a clash between anarchists, which results in casualties. The police pursue him while he goes into hiding. Meanwhile, Thalia is on the road to success, while her anxiety about Nikitas' fate reaches its peak. On the big day of the premiere, which she had dreamed of so much, Nikitas arrives at her house in a terrible state, injured...

Eleni and her mother run a clothing store. Business is not going well and they are in debt. Her mother pressures her to accept the proposal of Thanos, a rich man, and to give up her relationship with Petros, a young man who is serving his military service in Cyprus. Petros shows no signs of life and Eleni, who is already pregnant by Petros, marries Thanos. Petros returns and after the death of his grandmother, he inherits her house and a bank account. He opens a gas station and decides to marry Anna, the girl who took care of his grandmother...
