In Depression-era Ireland, Jimmy Gralton returns home after ten years of exile in America. Seeing the levels of poverty and oppression, his inner activist reawakens and he looks to reopen the dance hall that led to his deportation.

The series tells the story of best friends Conor and Fergus and begins with both young men ready to leave small town Ireland behind in hopes of better fortunes abroad. The story then jumps forward to years later as both men's lives are thrown into turmoil by family drama, resurfacing old wounds and a dramatically changed Ireland.

Taken Down is a crime drama series set in Dublin. The first series investigates the violent death of a young Nigerian migrant found abandoned close to a Direct Provision Centre, where refugees await the hope of asylum. The investigation brings us into a twilight world of the new Ireland where slum landlords and criminals prey on the vulnerable.
