After three years in a coma, Juliane Maybach suddenly wakes up, but doesn't remember the last months before the accident that caused her critical condition. The estrangement from her husband Stefan and their daughter Antonia weighs heavily upon her mind and makes her mistrusting everyone. Little by little, Juliane tries to reveal the secrets in her past.

The successful journalist Linda (Thekla Carola Wied) depends on their job to the nails to finally spend a quiet life with the retired Latin teacher Jacob (Günther Maria Halmer). But yet they have reckoned without their busy adult children Leonie (Julia Brendler) and Thomas (Jens Atzorn) made the constantly unload their triplets care with grandparents. Then, when even a previous love of Thomas Jakob is around the corner and another grandson in his luggage, the pensioner is finally overwhelmed. He does everything it can to keep the delicate origin of the baby a secret. Finally, Thomas and Leonie want to soon give the knot.

Together with his students, Ralph is faced with an unpleasant task: The evening school is moving to an innovative educational center. Ralph thinks this is a bad joke.

Maja could hardly be happier. She loves her husband Konrad and their two children more than anything and things are also going well professionally, having recently taken up a promising position as a molecular biologist in a renowned clinic after completing her doctorate. But one day, a motorcycle accident involving her husband has serious consequences. After a minor operation on his leg went without a hitch, Konrad's condition deteriorates rapidly a little later. It soon transpires that he has been infected with dangerous germs in hospital. As the hospital treating him is Maja's new workplace, her boss Professor Adler, who would prefer to sweep the matter under the carpet, is not at all happy for her to investigate on her own. And she soon discovers some shocking facts.

The successful publisher Susanne Bredemeyer receives an extraordinary present from her husband Leo for her 60th birthday: a romantic country house in Sweden. Far away from everyday life, the two, whose marriage has become routine, want to make a fresh start. Arriving in Sweden, however, it quickly becomes clear to them that the omissions of the past few years are not so easy to make up for. And as if the unfamiliar life in nature wasn't exciting enough, the entire Bredemeyer clan gradually turns up to visit Leo and Susanne. There is no question that the rural idyll will soon be haywire.
