Gurbet works as a farmer with her father, Hüseyin Çavuş. She and Halil are in love with each other. Halil works as a laborer in the city to earn money to build a house and buy a field. Çılgan Ağa, who has taken over the fields of the villagers in the area by putting them into debt, is also in love with Gurbet. Çılgan gives Hüseyin Çavuş debts he cannot repay. By extending the repayment period and giving additional loans, he gains his trust. Hüseyin Çavuş falls ill and dies. To pay off her father's debt, Gurbet puts herself up for auction. She will marry the one who offers the most money. During the auction, Çılgan Ağa not only offers the highest amount but also promises to forgive all the villagers' debts. Unable to withstand the villagers' pressure, Gurbet agrees to marry Çılgan Ağa.

Mehmet and Halim's daughter Kına are in love with each other. One day, when Mehmet's shirt tears, Kına mends it. Upon hearing this, the villagers sing a song about it. Halim Ağa and his sons, believing that Mehmet has dishonored them, torment him. When the police intervene, Halim Ağa accuses Mehmet of theft. The police arrest Mehmet. Unable to control his anger, Halim Ağa's son Ali burns down Mehmet's house and tries to rape Melek. Melek commits suicide to escape Ali. As Mehmet is being taken away by the police, the bandit Kara Hacı rescues him. When Mehmet returns to his village, he sees that Melek is dead. Upon this, Mehmet goes to the mountains to take revenge on Halim Ağa and joins Kara Hacı's gang.

Ekrem descends into the underworld to dismantle a gang that has dragged his sister Ayten into prostitution, and attempts to bring justice into his own hands.

Considering the conditions of the period in which it was filmed, it is a fairly realistic film. The location is not specified, but I think it is somewhere around Adana. It is a rice field where female agricultural workers are working. A ruthless landlord and a son who is just as evil as his father. One of the female workers, who stands out for her beauty (Melek Görgün), catches the attention of both the landlord and his son. She flees due to the pressure she faces, and her path crosses with that of a young man (Salih Güney) who has suffered at the hands of the landlord, had his land taken away, and lost his sister. They fall in love, and the events lead to a tragic ending. In keeping with classic Yeşilçam screenplays, you expect Salih Güney to avenge his sister's death and reunite with Melek Görgün (or for the woman to die).
