On a stopover in Barcelona, Fériaud Roland discovers a corpse in the hotel room next door. He wakes up in a strange clinic without remembering who brought him there. The doctor insists he hallucinated, but it's not long before he obtains evidence that it wasn't a dream.

Spain, 1936. The Civil War breaks out. In a village near Barcelona, several families decide to continue living in their summer houses until the violence ends.

The singer-songwriter Joan Manuel Serrat plays the role of a young fisherman named Joan from Ibiza (Eivissa) who falls hopelessly in love about a beautiful English tourist and it leaves everything to follow her to London, where he is introduced to the hippie world.

This music-themed drama is set in Barcelona of the mid-'80s. When famed composer Lluis Doria visits a transvestite club, he learns his lifelong friend Albert Rossell is the house pianist. A flashback takes the tale four decades into the past, where the younger Rossell rejoins Teresa after having spent years in prison for helping anti-Franco anarchists. The story continues into Paris of the '30s, the period when Doria and Rossell first met, sharing a mutual interest in music and Teresa, before civil war sent them in different directions.

Paco, a middle-class young man, tells his lover the shady story of his cousin Montse, a social worker.

Ana is Catalan, daughter of a bourgeois family and works in a studio in advertising. She is 38 years old and has only lived with her husband, with whom she has a relationship cold but accepted by both. Although his family is opposed, decides to leave her husband and takes a vacation with her daughter Barbara, of 12 years, in order to leave behind all the past and start a freer life, with fewer ties, less conventional.

Veronica, recently divorced with a son, begins to organize her life and adapt to the new situation. Her problems are soon relegated to the back ground when Carlos, her masseuse, is murdered. Knowing himself in danger, Carlos left a final message on her answering machine: she had to retrieve a package hidden in a railway station toilet. From that moment, Veronica will not know peace.
