UFC Fight Night 6.5: Ortiz vs. Shamrock 3 was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on October 10, 2006. WEC 25: McCullough vs. Cope was the first mixed martial arts event held by the World Extreme Cagefighting under Zuffa management. The event was held on January 20, 2007. WEC 25's main event was a championship fight for the vacant WEC Lightweight Title, between rivals Rob McCullough and Kit Cope. The co-main event was a WEC Featherweight Title bout between champion, Urijah Faber and challenger Joe Pearson.

DREAM.8 took place on April 5, 2009, at Nippon Gaishi Hall in Nagoya, Japan, promoted by Fighting and Entertainment Group’s DREAM. The main event features Hayato "Mach" Sakurai facing Shinya Aoki in a welterweight Grand Prix opening round bout, with Sakurai coming off a TKO win over Kuniyoshi Hironaka at DREAM.6 and Aoki fresh from a submission victory over David Gardner at DREAM.7. Other welterweight Grand Prix matchups include Marius Žaromskis vs. Seichi Ikemoto, Jason High vs. Yuya Shirai, and Andre Galvão vs. John Alessio. Additional bouts showcase Sergei Kharitonov vs. Jeff Monson in a heavyweight clash and Riki Fukuda vs. Murilo Rua.

WEC 31: Faber vs. Curran was a mixed martial arts (MMA) event held by World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC). The event took place on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada and was aired live on the Versus Network. The main event featured a featherweight title match between champion Urijah Faber and challenger Jeff Curran. The card also featured Doug Marshall defending his light heavyweight championship against Ariel Gandulla and Paulo Filho defending his middleweight championship against Chael Sonnen. The event drew an estimated 629,000 viewers on Versus.

WEC 30: McCullough vs. Crunkilton was a mixed martial arts (MMA) event held by World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC). The event took place on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada and aired live on the Versus Network. The event featured a lightweight title match between champion "Razor" Rob McCullough and Richard Crunkilton. Additionally, Chase Beebe defended his bantamweight title against Brazilian jiu-jitsu expert Rani Yahya, who replaced Manny Tapia on the card after Tapia suffered a knee injury. WEC 30 was to feature the WEC debut of former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight Champion Jens Pulver in his move to the featherweight division. However, Pulver had to withdraw from the fight due to a knee injury.

UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen II was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on July 7, 2012, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card's main event featured UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva defending his title against Chael Sonnen in a highly anticipated bout.
