Famous acrobat Elvira Madigan meets Sixten Sparre, a married Swedish officer with two children. They decide to elope, but since Sparre deserted the army, he's unemployable and the couple encounter various hardships.

In this romantic drama, Niels (Jens Osterholm) is a petty thief and irresponsible lout who meets Lone (Yvonne Ingdal), a hospital lab assistant who is just the opposite of Niels. The two meet, fall in love, and must learn the old adage that opposites attract. The unenviable Niels and the model citizen Lone are helpless to fight their passionate chemistry when they are together.

A man is fired from his office job and at the same time he has a suspicion that his wife is cheating on him. The movie follows the desperate and dramatic reactions that the man makes up in his mind.

Jan Scharf's band is playing at Grönköbing Folk Park. Pianist Jan flirts with a young female audience member. Her friend notices what is going on, so they have to flee headlong. Back home in Copenhagen, they discover that their old residence has disappeared and a new high-rise building is going up, leaving them homeless. Jan has an uncle in Nyhavn, where he plans to stay temporarily.

A portrayal of two modern young men and their experiences of love. Jack, a sociology student, is in a relationship with Betty, who is somewhat older than him. It develops into a passionate love affair, but in the long run, the age difference and especially Betty's upper-class background weigh too heavily. Jack's friend, the cynical journalist Hugo, has casual relationships with several girls until he falls in love with the model Ruth. However, she returns to her husband, and when Hugo later has his face disfigured in a car accident, he ends up committing suicide. Before doing so, he tells Jack that he and several others have also had relationships with Betty.

The film is a window into the world of fifteen-year-old Tim, sharing his joys and sorrows and his first encounter with love, during the German occupation of Denmark in World War II.
