Two families, Sebkovi and Krausovi, are celebrating Christmas, but not everyone is in a good mood. The teenage kids think that their fathers are totally stupid, and the fathers are sure that their children are nothing more than rebels, hating anything they say.

Operation Danube was the cover name for the invasion of Czechoslovakia by Warsaw Pact armies in August 1968. The fleet of Polish tanks which arrive to liberate their neighbor, ostensibly threatened by a counter-revolution, includes the old tank nicknamed Ladybird, which is the last to leave the barracks.

A man takes up residence with a mysterious marquis and is soon persuaded to enter into an asylum for preventative therapy. Things are not what they seem, and the marquis may be even more sinister than what the young man might have predicted.

The story of the black Christmas comedy Doblba! takes place in the extended Muk family. The main character is Karel Muk, a simple man with simple dreams, living a somewhat stereotypical married life with Tereza, the stepmother of Karel's daughter Valinka. In the words of the script: ... Karel worked for many years as a cemetery caretaker and liked to say: "Only death is certain," but he never admitted that it could affect him in any way. There wasn't much to praise him for. His brother Robert Muk, on the other hand, is a confident and practical businessman, and the youngest, Pavel, seems unable to decide whether to find meaning in life in protecting the Šumava forests or in erotic games with secretaries. One day, shortly before Christmas, the Muk family receives an unexpected inheritance.

In the house of Líba and Arnošt, preparations for the christening are in full swing, which are to take place exactly according to Líba's detailed plan - including choosing the child's name. However, nothing goes as expected: daughter-in-law Simona secretly chooses a different name, Arnošt gets involved in a "detective" search for lost keys and a supposed theft, while Karel and his friend Richard solve a misunderstanding in a jewelry store. The chaos is compounded by the confused saleswoman Vlastička, who has lost her memory. As the day of the christening approaches, secrets surface, identities become clear, and family relationships are put to the test.

The film is based on a legendary school film of Tomáš Vorel, called INg (1985). The storyline stays the same - a young engineer finds a new job and wants to work, this proves to be impossible in the last days of the communist era.

Director Tomáš Vorel created his experimental feature debut with members of renowned Prague non-traditional auteur theaters. The ensembles presented their own poetics and style through five "short stories" connected by satirical commentary by the "expert" Dr. Milan Šteindler, CSc.

Solving the mystery divides the story into several interweaving narratives that ultimately connect in unexpected ways.
