The Battle of Neretva

In January 1943 the German army, afraid of an Allied invasion of the Balkans, launched a great offensive against Yugoslav Partisans in Western Bosnia. The only way out for Partisan forces and thousands of refugees was the bridge on the river Neretva.

The Trophy

A committee made up to investigate illegal masonry in Yugoslavia causes more problems both for the builders and government, and in fact no one have any use of it. The pressure from all sides makes committee work less diligently.

The plot follows two elderly convicts who return home after serving a multi-year sentence and face the challenges of life at large.
