In the winter of 1891 a stranger arrives in a small coastal town on the Isle of Man. His presence soon disturbs the lives of the local inhabitants, especially the beautiful daughter of the parson.

Antonia's Line

After World War II, Antonia and her daughter, Danielle, go back to their Dutch hometown, where Antonia's late mother has bestowed a small farm upon her. There, Antonia settles down and joins a tightly-knit but unusual community. A young woman who works in a bookstore has been terrified by nightmares about having committed suicide in a past lifetime, combined with a sense of déjà vu regarding a specific apartment building. When she meets a young man who works in an optical company, whether she knows it or not, she is that much closer to the truth about her visions.

Fatal Error

Detectives Grijpstra and De Gier are sent to investigate the case of a man who apparently hanged himself in a center for oriental meditation. It is ruled as suicide and the case seems to be closed, but the same night there is an attempted break in. The investigation hits a dead end and everyone involved is a suspect. Based on the book "The Corpse in the Haarlemmer Houttuinen” by Jan-Willem van de Wetering.

Max & Laura & Henk & Willie

The romantic pharmacist Max is in a relationship with Willie and also has a platonic relationship with Laura. The artist Henk is the fourth player in this game of quartets. The foursome is comically torn between the urge for independence and the desire for a partner. Jealousy and relationship anxiety cause the relationships to constantly change, resulting in continuous relocations. In between, there is the minor drama involving Bonita: Max has a passion for pigeons. Together with the melancholic pigeon fancier Gisbers, he is the owner of the cock pigeon Bonita, who never wins any prizes...

Baantjer is a Dutch television programme which was broadcast by RTL 4 from 6 October 1995 until 1 December 2006 for a total of 123 episodes in 12 seasons. It stars Piet Römer as Jurriaan 'Jurre' de Cock, a police detective, and Victor Reinier as Dick Vledder, his helper. The series is based on the novels of writer A. C. Baantjer. In 1999, RTL 4 broadcast the television film Baantjer, de film: De Cock en de wraak zonder einde because of the tenth anniversary of the network.
