A young man keeps meeting the same girl with a violin again and again. Is it his destiny?

On the outskirts of the modern city, an old mill stands. Townspeople come here to grind corn, while waiting for their turn, they share memories of the past, discuss present concerns, joke, and argue.

Based on Nodar Dumbadze’s novel “Don’t Be Afraid, Mother”, the film depicts the dangerous life of border guards. Avtandil Jakeli, doing his mandatory military service in a border village, often thinks of his parents, friends, and the girl next door, Daduna.

Bata, orphaned by her mother, has gone through a long way of life, and witnessed a lot - the fall of feudalism, revolution, and changing times. He got married and raised nine children, but his love for the girl from his village followed him until the end of his life.
