Independence is a 1999 Malayalam fantasy film directed by Vinayan and starring Vani Viswanath, Kushboo Sundar, Kalabhavan Mani and Indraja in the lead roles.

Appu (Nedumudi) is struggling to make ends meet while doing odd jobs and trying to find a more stable job. In the meanwhile he meets Amminikutty (Madhavi) with whom he falls in love. He however lies to her and makes her believe that he has a well paying government job. In the meanwhile Amminikutty's cousin, Das (Mammotty) arrives in town to further complicate Appu's plans.

Rachana is a 1983 Indian Malayalam film, directed by Mohan and produced by Sivan Kunnampilly. The film stars Srividya, Nedumudi Venu, Bharath Gopi and Mammootty in lead roles. The film had musical score by MB Sreenivasan.Bharath Gopi won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in the film.

The film starts out as a campus story involving four boys, Thomas, Ravi, Alosius and Swami. There is the usual pranks that the boys of the age do, although the movie doesn't just revolve around these.The second half of the movie takes us to scenic locales of Munnar. The second half also introduces the major female character, Molu. The movie centres around the problems faced by them in a hotel in Munnar.

Randu Penkuttikal is a 1978 Indian Malayalam-language film directed by Mohan from a screenplay by Surasu, which is partially based on the novel of the same name by V. T. Nandakumar. This movie is one of the earliest movies to explore the theme of lesbianism in a normalised way.

Menon leaves his village the day before his marriage as he learns that his fiancee is in love with someone else. His life seems meaningless until he meets a woman who is a part of the flesh trade.

Balakrishnan is a history teacher working in an elementary school in a hillside village. Nirmala has been newly recruited in the temporary post of a music teacher in the same school. Balakrishnan eventually falls in love with her but his timid nature doesn't allow him to express his feeling. So in order to get close to her, he decides to accompany her to her native village. Some unexpected incidents happen during the journey and this changes both of their destiny.
