Mahabali was a beloved king and very kind to his subjects in the state of Kerala. The time under his rule was considered one of great prosperity and happiness. It is in fact this success as a king that led the gods to be wary of him and bring his demise at the hands of Vamana.

Appu (Nedumudi) is struggling to make ends meet while doing odd jobs and trying to find a more stable job. In the meanwhile he meets Amminikutty (Madhavi) with whom he falls in love. Bhaskara Pillai (Mamootty), a lawyer decides to help out Basheer seeing his plight. The plot thickens when there's an attempted murder on Basheer.

Thomaskutty who hails from a conservative Christian family gets married to a typical Tamil Brahmin girl, Saraswathy. They are left alone by their respective families for this reason. But both the families unite when a baby girl is born to the couples. The later part of the film deals with the problems faced by Thomaskutty and Saraswathy when their families start fighting even on petty issues.

Eventually the major comes to know about his job and helps him out to get an alternate one. Meanwhile, Haridas realises that his original government job is now occupied by an old-time adversary Manu (Suresh Gopi), with whom he gets into multiple altercations.

Chandran, a farmer, leaves his village when he is falsely accused of a murder. He faces many challenges when he goes to an unknown city for a living.
